The HERMANN MARWEDE is the largest sea rescue cruiser ever commissioned in Germany. It is one of around 60 rescue units of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) on the North Sea and Baltic Sea. Since its foundation more than 150 years ago, the work of the DGzRS has been financed exclusively by donations.
